Well, I am what I am.

First of all, I'm a bilingual investigative journalist...

My favorite journalistic genre is the long feature article, but life constantly has leaded me to write opinion and informative analysis articles.

So, it is no coincidence that I've been awarded on different occasions for my analysis and argumentation journalistic writing: In 1992, I won the "Félix F. Palavicini" National Award for Young Journalists.

I'm a specialist in dissecting reality into its minor details to find the background of relevant events and the motivation of its leading players.

I think the presumable objectivity of traditional journalism, based on the facts collection, is not enough for born journalists like me.

A journalist must delve into the intention that creates and recreates stories word by word, every hard fact, each piece of evidence because contextualizing anathematizes half-truths, fundamentalisms, and “ingenious tales” which harm our society.

My baptism by fire as a journalist happened when I was still studying at the university, and I got an award for an interview done as an academic assignment. My source of information lost her job because she revealed essential clues about the financial opacity of the public administration in Mexico.

My source, a government vendor, or even I could not imagine my school work would be published in a national newspaper.

From that moment, I began to work all the sections of printed newspapers and magazines that were willing to publish my work.

I learned it was a privilege to learn the trade like the news reporters in the 1940s decade, playing as a detective with data puzzles of the Mexico City's Attorney's Office. A game that would help me later to investigate, analyze all kind of news information.
